an on-going case-study

Digital Footprint

Within new media, algorithms use a personalised approach to each user. In the construction of a personal visual language, the algorithm creates a  visual narrative mainly focused on the moderation on colour.  → This project subjects an on-going  case study in which I ask people to screen-record their ‘scrolling behaviour’ while using new media platforms in order to analyse each individuals digital footprint to find interrelated structures. Through collecting visual data,  a visual compilation of this tracking method suffices as a fitting contemporary example that can ultimately be used to visually demystify the underlying connections its user is unaware of. → An extended visual overview was made in order to visualise the aestheticization of systemic decision making through trigger colours. Repetition, subliminal changes towards the users preference as well as the concept of rhythm are all topics to be placed and currently further explored within this case-study.

Because the colour mapping holds sensitive personal information in regards to the individuals that participated in the case-study, a full overview is available upon request.
